A. Look in the video options and see if there's a "windowed" mode... Some games won't give you this option.
There is another way that you could do it... Most games have some sort of .cfg file somewhere in the install directory (called many different things, but usually autoexec.cfg or similar) that run when the game is launched and that's where a lot of settings are stored.
If you knew what you were doing, you could modify that .cfg file to say something like (there's a code on a line...) Fullscreen="1", well you could change that 1 to a zero, which would run it in windowed mode...
BUT...this is different for lots of games, so I wouldn't even bother with this option, especially because you can really screw things up by modifying code if you don't know what you're doing...
So just stick with my first suggestion...
